Vague quantifiers are words (usually adjectives and adverbs) that have different interpretations. They can appear both in question stems and in response options. Note: The second item appeared in the original research for the Technology Acceptance Model. #ux #uxr #userresearch #uxresearch

To better understand the online dating experience, we collected UX data on a variety of attitudes and intentions toward seven popular online dating services. Our study found that they provide a poor user experience, worse then 81% of the websites in our SUPR-Q database. #ux #uxr #userexperience #userresearch #uxresearch

When comparing multiple interfaces, researchers can use the same participants (within-subjects) or different participants (between-subjects) on each interface. The between-subjects approach is the more familiar one to researchers, but the within-subjects approach has some important advantages. The right choice depends on these factors. #ux #userresearch #uxr #uxresearch

Confidence levels are typically 90% or 95%. Variability is measured using the standard deviation. The sample size is usually the main variable the researcher can manipulate—larger sample sizes result in narrower margins of error/confidence intervals. Our MUiQ platform includes an analysis dashboard that calculates confidence intervals and adds error bars, significantly reducing the time researchers spend on manual statistical comparisons. #ux #uxr #userexperience #uxdesign #quantitativeanalysis

How well do measures of intent to recommend actually match future recommendation behavior? Our analysis of data from four longitudinal recommendation studies found a surprisingly high rate of future recommendation behavior (about 44%) from participants who expressed an intention to recommend. #ux #uxr #userexperience #userresearch #uxresearch

Understanding when to use different Information Architecture (IA) methods is crucial for creating intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences. Here’s a quick guide: 🔍 Card Sorting: This is a generative research method. It helps in discovering how users group information and their mental models. Use this to generate ideas and structure content that aligns with user expectations. 🛠 Tree Testing: This is an evaluative research method. It evaluates the effectiveness of your IA by measuring how easily users can find information in your hierarchy. Use this to validate and refine your structure. Both methods are essential for building robust IA, ensuring your users can navigate your site or app efficiently. MUIQ supports both methods to include open, closed and hybrid methods in our Card Sorting. #UX #UIdesign #InformationArchitecture #CardSorting #TreeTesting #UserExperience #ResearchMethods

UX Research typically uses non-probability panels and sampling against external benchmarks (e.g., customer and product usage). But you need to be careful about using the sample to generalize about the population. #uxresearch #uxr #userresearch #userexperience
