This Safety Action Plan for Central Florida is the culmination of a year-long effort which analyzed crash data, identified high injury networks, and pinpointed needed safety projects. The plan also includes 34 actions that MetroPlan Orlando and the region will take to start the journey toward zero traffic deaths. We invite you to review the plan and tell us your thoughts. We want to know what you like about the plan, how we can improve it, and if you believe the actions in this plan will help us achieve our goal of getting to zero traffic deaths and serious injuries on our roads by the year 2050. Read the draft version of the report and make your comment here: https://lnkd.in/e55fTZNi

In case you missed it, make sure to watch "Centering Safety and Equity" with Charles T. Brown, MPA, CPD. Last month we were fortunate to host this hour-long webinar as part of our Vision Zero Safety Speaker Series. This installment is especially impactful as Brown takes you on a journey through the critical intersections of safety and equity in transportation planning with a particular focus on Vision Zero. Brown also shares his equity framework, touches upon transportation underserved communities (TUC) in Central Florida, and leaves you with a deeper respect and understanding of the underlying social and historical context that contributed to disparities in transportation. https://lnkd.in/gsvu8Db7
