This program focuses on training in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installation, teaching maintenance and repair techniques for solar panels that convert sunlight into electricity. It was a big day for 👩🏾⚕️Clinical Medical Assistant students from #PittsburghJobCorps as they visited the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) 👨🏾⚕️School of Nursing. The students enjoyed a tour of the facility, a good question and answer session, and a chance to observe the Simulation lab. The City of Denison is keeping our #DenisonJobCorps students busy, with 🛠hands-on projects for work-based learning (a.k.a internships). Recently, 9 students went to Maxwell Park to replace posts on a shelter house that was originally built by students in 1981. Ten more students went to Washington Park to help clean up the 🌳park for a Heritage Day event. Students also worked to pull weeds and help beautify the uptown area to prepare for a parade. The City of Denison partnership with #DenisonJobCorps is going so well that we named the city as our Employer of the Quarter. 🏫Student Government Association (SGA) president Faisal Muya presented the award to Sam Ellis for being an exceptional mentor to our work-based learning students (a.k.a. interns) as they help the City’s 🌳Parks and Recreation Department.
