July is #NationalGrillingMonth and we’re celebrating the unsung heroes of the grill: Women! In a survey with We are Talker (formerly 72Point Inc.), we discovered that 53% of respondents believe women are not receiving the notice or the praise they deserve for their grill skills. This month especially, we’re proud to offer the better tasting chicken that consumers want, making grill time a good time for everyone. Check out full results from the survey here: https://lnkd.in/eersueFU

We are thrilled to share that we held our 5th Annual Day of Understanding event. This year’s theme of “Intentional Inclusion and Belonging” reflected our ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace where every associate feels seen, heard, and valued. Throughout the day, we engaged in meaningful conversations and heard powerful testimonials from our associates. These conversations emphasized the importance of intentional belonging and the culture of our company. Thanks to our entire Perdue Farms team, your participation is what creates an impactful event year after year. Let’s continue to show our dedication to these values all year long. #Diversity #Inclusion #IntentionalBelonging #CompanyCulture #DayofUnderstanding

We know many of our neighbors in northwest Iowa have a long, hard road to recovery ahead following last weekend’s record flooding. That’s why Perdue Farms is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross relief efforts and delivering a truckload of chicken products — the equivalent of 33,000 meals — to the Food Bank of Siouxland, Inc. in Sioux City, who will ensure the resources will help our impacted associates and families, and our Iowa neighbors, in their recovery. This response is part of the company’s “Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® disaster relief outreach focused on improving quality of life and building strong communities. Chief Executive Officer, Perdue Farms

Today I had the opportunity to join food and agriculture leaders from across the industry to talk about the latest challenges and opportunities ahead at The Wall Street Journal Global Food Forum in Chicago.   For me, it was a chance to spotlight the dedication of Perdue’s associates and farmers as we work together to solve problems and utilize new tools and innovations to unlock more ways to serve our evolving consumers and customers. Whether that is doubling down on our commitment to no antibiotics ever or through a maniacal focus on biosecurity to protect our supply chain, we are relentlessly prioritizing the safety and quality of our products and take seriously the trust our consumers put in us as they feed their families every day.   As I near the one-year mark as CEO of Perdue Farms, I continue to be inspired daily by the teams I get to work alongside. When we say we want to be the most trusted name in food and agriculture, we mean it. Thank you to @The Wall Street Journal and @Patrick Thomas for the invitation and the opportunity to share more about the ways Perdue is driving transparency in how our food is produced and about the partnerships we’ve forged with our farmers that allow us to be a leader in animal care. #WSJFood

Today, some of our associates joined the Food Bank of Delaware to help feed more than 2,000 of our neighbors throughout the First State at a mass drive-thru food distribution event at Dover Motor Speedway. Perdue donated 14,000 pounds of no-antibiotics-ever chicken to support the effort and associates from our Milford, Delaware plant and Perdue Transportation Inc. lent a helping hand. We’re proud to partner with the Food Bank of Delaware as part of our Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® outreach to improve quality of life and build strong communities.

Perdue Chef Chris Moyer and members of his culinary team recently welcomed students from the Maryland Food Bank FoodWorks Culinary Training Program to the Innovation Center in Salisbury, Maryland for a hands-on educational experience. The culinary students learned how culinary arts plays a role in food manufacturing and production, seeing firsthand how products go from concept to commercialization. FoodWorks offers a fresh start to low-income individuals with 12-weeks of intense culinary training. Students learn both professional and intra-personal skills, producing well-rounded chefs capable of making an impact in any culinary setting. We’re proud of our partnership with the Maryland Food Bank and how FoodWorks is changing lives and Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors®.
