The Loveland Foundation is committed to showing up for Black women and girls in unique and powerful ways.
About us
The Loveland Foundation was established in 2018 by Rachel Cargle in response to her widely successful birthday wish fundraiser, Therapy for Black Women and Girls. Her enthusiastic social media community raised over $250,000, which made it possible for Black women and girls nationally to receive therapy support. Black women and girls deserve access to healing, and that healing will impact generations. The Loveland Foundation is the official continuation of this effort to bring opportunity and healing to communities of color, and especially to Black women and girls. Through fellowships, residency programs, listening tours, and more, ultimately we hope to contribute to both the empowerment and the liberation of the communities we serve.

We want to live in a world where every Black woman has access to affordable therapy. There are so many ways and spaces to give back. As we move through BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month let's to take a moment to acknowledge the weight of choosing a space to invest your resources. In 2018, Rachel Cargle started the Loveland Foundation to help Black women and girls feel seen, heard, and safe. She rejected the idea that mental health care was a luxury and answered the call to make mental wellness more accessible. Since that simple birthday fundraiser that started it all, the Loveland team and our supporters have created true magic. We have covered the cost of therapy for over 152,000 hours of therapy, and close to $10 million given to BIPOC therapists. We’ve helped so many improve their mental wellness, but the truth is we’ve also had to turn away thousands seeking therapy vouchers because the demand for our program is so high. And it’s no wonder why the need for affordable therapy is skyrocketing in our community. Being a Black woman in America is mentally taxing, to say the least. We need to fund more therapy for Black women. Period. That’s why we are launching our “Love, Us” campaign. From now until December, the “Love, Us” campaign is rallying 1 million supporters to contribute just $5 each . If we succeed, we'll be able to provide $5 million in therapy to Black women, girls, and non-binary folks in 2025. This campaign is about Black women, and those who love them, pooling our resources together to build a grassroots, for us, by us movement of intergenerational healing. We want each therapy voucher to feel like a gift with a card signed, “Love, Us.” Give the gift of therapy: https://lnkd.in/eQCtazAx
