What do you do if virtual collaboration is hindering your sales success?
Tools may the culprit if you are having trouble closing sales that include virtual meetings in the sales cycle. But, it's more likely the manner in which the seller is behaving (regardless of the tool) is causing the issue. Some things to try... 1) Do a time check at the beginning of the meeting 2) Ask more questions 3) Listen more 4) Use people's names to solicit feedback from people whose voice is being drowned out in the meeting 5) Confirm your understanding of what you are hearing before moving to the next topic 6) Agree on specific next steps before signing out of the meeting 7) End on time If you are doing those things really well and still struggling, then look at new tools.

What do you do if your emotional intelligence fails to handle difficult customers?
I've only had a couple times in my career where I encountered a customer who really got my heart rate up. It's no fun to be in that situation when someone on the other end of the call is extremely upset or mad and they seem to be taking it out on you. But, no matter what the problem is, try not to take it personally. The reason that the person is so upset or mad may have less to do with the problem you are trying to help them solve, and more to do with something else going on in their life. Remember that. Stay calm. And work the problem.

What do you do if your sales pipeline is stagnant?
If you're an AE with a stagnant pipeline, there's likely only one person you can blame, yourself. Here are some rules I followed that helped me succeed as an AE... 1) Always be prospecting - carve out time each day to do it. Don't be afraid to try creative, outside the box approaches. 2) Be quick to cut loose prospects that are a bad fit - it helps you both. 3) Follow up. Amazing how many opportunities are lost just because the AE neglects to follow up. 4) Listen way more than you talk. It will help you really understand what opportunities deserve the bulk of your attention.
