Founded by Rich Bello, the co-founder and COO of Blue Ridge Capital, Rich’s aim is to leverage his experience working with top Hedge Fund Executives to achieve peak performance.
Arootah services include:
Providing expert advisors in key operational areas to emerging/established Investment firms
Coaching direct-to-consumer (executive and career coaching)
Advising clients with Capital Introduction and Raising best practices for Emerging Managers
Investing in a portfolio of public and private companies that make a positive impact
Building SaaS applications for both enterprise and consumer use
Providing Talent Acquisition and Development services to the financial industry
Who we need:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play an essential role in the growth and scale of Arootah. You will build the infrastructure and processes while promoting the company’s culture and vision. You will lead the Arootah team with key performance metrics, accountability, and implementing risk control procedures. You will oversee all core business operations, including business Planning and Strategy, IT, Accounting, Finance, Legal and HR. You are a proven operational leader who thrives under stress with tight timelines. You are creative and innovative, with a quantitative approach to business operations. At the core of every company are its people; you will focus on all aspects of talent: acquisition, development, performance measurement, feedback, and retention.
What You'll Do
Function as the CEO's operational counterpart; supply leadership, guidance, direction, and consistency to the organization
Oversee the build out of the Hedge Fund and Family Office Advisory
Lead expansion activities, including investments and acquisitions through our venture studio.
Create a sophisticated and scalable operation, to drive a rapidly growing business without sacrificing our core values, processes or risk control framework.
Liaise and lead day-to-day operations, finance, accounting, IT, HR, and legal.
Review existing procedures and identify areas for improvement efficiency
Leverage analytics to inform strategic planning to define operational success
Use metrics to hold the team accountable by creating OKRs and KPIs
Strategize and perform go-to-market activities for new products and services.
Perform organizational gap analyses and goal setting.
Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing talent using our highly sophisticated talent selection model.
Manage and delegate to a growing team
Maintain confidentiality, integrity and high ethical standards creating systems of accountability.
While this is primarily a remote opportunity, you must have the ability to travel for meetings in New York City
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, or related field
CPA or MBA is a must
10 years of progressive experience leading to a management position within a hedge fund
In Depth knowledge of Fundraising and Capital Introduction
Significant knowledge of Compliance, Regulatory, and Legal
Proven record bringing pre-revenue products and services to market
Must be a confident and analytical leader with a high level of emotional intelligence
Ability to make decisions quickly yet thoroughly using data
Developed and implemented a clear, long-term vision for a firm
Advanced and clear communication style with both private and public forums
Experienced in competitive analysis
Experience managing a large team with a proven record of achieving results
Takes a proactive approach to leadership, building teams of top talent, and fostering a high-performance culture

The estimated base salary for this role is $200,000 – $300,000 with additional incentives including bonus and equity.
