WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:  Fors Marsh is seeking a candidate who will provide full-time support to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and/or DHS sub-agencies in the areas of project management, program and policy research, and facilitating progress on agency mission and objectives. Specifically, this position will serve as support for performance management and program evaluation for a suite of federal programs focused on translating knowledge into actionable policies and practices.

  • This position is a contingent hire, meaning it is contingent on Fors Marsh winning an upcoming proposal. The interview process will be the same as our standard process, the offer letter (should we decide to move forward) will serve as a letter of commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information.
  • Responsible for the development of analytical solutions and databases.
  • Develop specifications for the most efficient database solutions. Good working knowledge and hands-on experience with key software platform architectures, web servers, application servers, and relational databases. May evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration. Provide consultation on complex projects.
  • Assist in exploring, categorizing and reviewing information. Inspect, clean, transform and model data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions and supporting DHS decision-making; ability to mine, review and validate data in order to develop models and data visualization that focus on predictive purposes and developing pertinent business information for DHS decision-makers.
  • Possess the ability to create and manage dashboards. Be able to review database architecture and data control polices and offer recommendations for improvement, and be able to support the existing development of an activity-based costing (ABC) model or development of new ABC models as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, social science, public policy or related field required.
  • 1-3 years' experience working with datasets or databases, preferably in a federal working environment.
  • Ability to apply tools like data analytics, data visualization, and performance measurement to help clients answer priority questions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including, PowerPoint, Excel and Word;
  • Strong quantitative ability and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities with minimum direction and supervision.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience writing syntax in SPSS, or Stata. (Additional programming skill in other languages such as SAS, R or SQL is desired but not required.)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.
  • Active security clearance within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agency or active Secret/Top Secret Clearance.

Contingent hire position status.

Salary: $57,000-$73,00
