Happy 4th of July from Lumafield! We grabbed a few “safe and sane” (non-aerial, non-explosive) fireworks and popped them into our Neptune scanner to delve into their internal structures and elemental composition. Discover which elements create certain colors as well as how the classic Bang Snaps make that annoying sound. Check out the full article ⬇ https://lnkd.in/gF9-5FW5

After years of outsourcing CT scans for failure analysis, this multinational medical technology company looked to bring their inspection process in-house. Our Neptune X-ray CT scanner met their high standards for IQ/OQ reporting as well as the FDA's regulations. They were able to cut down their failure analysis process from weeks to minutes, increasing their annual scan volume by 4,750% and saving over $335K in outsourcing costs. "Scanning at this volume was something we never could have afforded before we found Lumafield. It has completely transformed our understanding of defective products and allowed us to address defects the same day they arise. The impact has been incredible." — Director of Quality Control https://lnkd.in/gkHv28B2

Our coffee bean roast investigation featured by Hardware FYI! ☕️
The Analog #86: Investment Casting Basics & Coffee Bean CT Scans 🔹 CT scans of a coffee bean as its progressively roasted. Lumafield uses industrial CT scans to reveal the internal structural changes in coffee beans during different stages of roasting, from un-roasted green beans to dark roast. 🔹 This week we spoke with Karan Talati, Co-Founder & CEO at First Resonance. Karan was an engineer at SpaceX before taking the leap to co-found First Resonance. Today, the company’s software powers factories building rockets, autonomous vehicles, nuclear reactors, and more. 🔹 In the news: Cover founded by Brett Adcock launched from stealth mode this week. They’re licensing terahertz imaging tech from NASA’s JPL to create a security scanner that can detect concealed weapons from up to 4 meters away. 🔹 Doss is hosting another Anti ERP ERP Club event on 6/27 in San Francisco, CA. https://lnkd.in/dbVBFhKw

We CT scanned a SawStop to understand how it changes when fired! 🪚 Join us as we explore how this clever finger-saving, perhaps life-saving device works through the eyes of industrial CT. At Lumafield, our entire team is always coming up with ideas of cool things to scan. This one is courtesy of Matthew Alpert, Ph.D., whose curiosity about the SawStop on his own table saw set this project into motion. Stay tuned for more CT investigations from the Lumafielders who know Neptune and Voyager best. Check out the scans for yourself: https://lnkd.in/gdRneYgh
