🌊 Today is World Oceans Day! Aligned with this year’s theme, ‘Catalyzing Action for Our Ocean & Climate’, IFF believes in supporting marine conservation and the communities that depend on the oceans. As one of the largest global buyers and harvesters of seaweed for alginates and carrageenan, we’re committed to making a positive impact. Our Seaweeds Responsible Sourcing Program (SRSP) helps seaweed farmers and ensures we continuously improve our social and environmental standards. This year, we also echoed our commitment through share our partnership with the environmental NGO Bellona Europa. We launched a long-term project to restore 5,000 square kilometers of seaweed forests in northern Norway, which could boost biological carbon sequestration by 12 million tons.
