What if you could free up *years of focus time* for your organization just by hitting record ⏺️ ? My team challenged every Atlassian to replace one meeting with a video message, via the video platform Loom, over the course of 2 weeks. During the challenge, 43% of Atlassians had a meeting replaced with a Loom. This freed up 5,000 hours for focused work. That’s 2.5 years of working time saved from meetings. Loom helps teams efficiently share information and build connection because video retains the rich context and non-verbal signals of live meetings. Molly Sands, PhD I love this. I’ve learned so much from all the nuggets you’ve shared in webinars the past few months! No question - Team Anywhere is driving the Future of Work. Does your team have research planned on effectively preparing managers to lead in distributed environments? Atlassian must have great insights on this. Many companies I’ve consulted with on effective leadership feel overwhelmed by this - and their own managers feel unprepared to be effective.
How do you ensure the team is watching the Loom? How are questions and action items managed from these Loom videos? What sorts of meetings have been replaced? Something like an announcement type meeting or something that’s intended to be more collaborative?
I love all the experiments Atlassians are doing to learn about productivity! So inspiring.
So you have a retention policy? How do you archive and maintain the videos? I’m assuming it fits into a knowledge management strategy somehow Molly Sands, PhD.
Yeah, but human interaction, debate, and iteration are kinda the point of meeting up. Storing a message doesn’t need a meeting or really video in the first place…. Just make a doc and assign action items. I think this is misguided.
YES! I went from Loom newb to avid user in just a month. Total gamechanger.
Loom is rad.
Thank your for experimenting and sharing your learning with the public! Loom is so great for replacing meetings that were in the "inform" or "update" bucket, giving us more mental space and energy for the meetings that do require co-creation.
Great experiment, Molly!
