ECE & ME Assistant Professor Joseph Andrews and his team have developed a printed sensor to economically measure nitrates in soil. This technology would allow farmers to dispense a more precise amount of fertilizer which could reduce both material costs and the harmful effects of nitrates leaching into groundwater.
