Did You Know: just over 32% of American internet subscribers have chosen packages of Gig speed or faster. And that’s more than double the number of subscribers from just one year ago! Gig speed-ers also represent the second most popular speed category, at less than 3% below the first-place tier: 200-400Mbps. What’s the only reliable way to deliver those kinds of speeds and beyond: fiber internet! How long do you think it will be until multi-gig broadband speeds become the norm? #GigSpeed #FiberInternet #BroadbandTrends

UK's broadband speeds surge! 🚀 Now, 80% of homes enjoy #gigabit-capable connections. Full-fibre usage jumps to 62%. Just 57,000 premises lack decent service, while 5G reaches 92% outdoors. This rapid digital growth promises a revolutionary impact on work, learning, and daily life. Thoughts on our tech-powered future? #UK #Broadband #5G Ofcom

Investments in next-generation infrastructure are paying off for telecoms and pay-TV companies—and more investment is on the way. By 2027, telecoms operations will spend over $342 billion rolling out and maintaining infrastructure for broadband and mobile networks. Today, in Australia, many people learned that bundling all your telecommunications services whilst on the face of it seems like an imminently commercially cost saving approach, it can also be disastrous. Should your Internet Service Provider (ISP) be the same as your mobile phone provider? If you require redundant backup (say 4G or 5G), does it really make sense to use the same carrier that provides you with your primary ISP? Should your land line provider be the same as your ISP? My advice - don't bundle. A great example is Starlink for Internet backup for those that can get it. It's a completely different form of technology, and completely independent from what would likely be your primary ISP carrier. Last thought - given so many of us work from home from time to time, do we need to re-think our telecommunications strategy for home as it's no longer just used for residential purposes? #ceo #cfo #coo #ciso #cro #cio

It's exciting to see the the latest FCC Notice of Inquiry (NOI) considers a new broadband definition of 100/20Mbps, but also considers a longer term goal of 1Gbps/500Mbps. Peraso already supports cost effective deployment of 1Gbps/1Gbps, and up to 2.5Gbps/2.5Gbps. Cost effective, multigigabit broadband is already here! https://lnkd.in/eJw8gxah

🌐 The development of high-speed Internet connections in #Germany is progressing: in the first half of 2023, the number of available gigabit connections increased by approximately 2.2 million, to over 40 million; just under 40% of these connections are fiber-optic. This means that around 15 million households could already benefit from the future industry standard. 💠 Citizens can already rely on high-speed mobile networks in most of Germany: the #5G network now covers over 87% of Germany. 💠 Not all customers can already enjoy the benefits of fiber expansion: approximately 30% of consumers are currently unable to obtain a fiber connection despite their interest. They are either tenants and therefore cannot decide on their own about the type of connection in their home, or they live in an area where a fiber optic connection has not yet been installed. 🔗 source: https://lnkd.in/g5yETANn
