Exciting things are happening at #WabtecTransit. Our #GreenFriction braking solution is ready to begin commercial fleet operations on the RER A rail line in the greater Paris metropolitan area, in association with Ile-De-France Mobilités (IDFM) and RATPgroup. The innovative brake friction material will improve air quality in the transit authority’s tunnels and underground network by reducing particle emissions from braking.   "Particulate matter emissions from train braking are a worldwide challenge” said Philippe Nogues-Cubelles, Vice President Friction at Wabtec. “Green Friction tackles the source of the fine particle problem. Today, Wabtec Corporation is the only company in the rail industry offering operational, rapidly deployable and cost-effective equipment to reduce pollution levels linked to braking."   Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/eNHUVh_q   #WabtecTransit #Paris #France #TransitRail #PassengerRail #Sustainability #Innovation #ExpandThePossible

Absolutely brilliant, just one question on the new pads it appears like the heat is transferring through to the disk (it could just be the way the light is hitting it) how well do the new material pads draw heat away from the axel/brake disk? All positive work just interested to understand more 💪💪💪

It is posible to total eliminate fine particles emitted during braking? Using high heat tolerance material will improve obvious but the best is regenerative brake. Each axle must have a traction motor.

Braking on trains and subways has always been the Achilles' heel, problems such as wear of discs and pads, overheating, contamination, corrosion, noise and vibration, inadequate maintenance, uneven wear, addressing these problems requires regular and careful maintenance, as well as the use of high-quality materials and rigorous inspection procedures to ensure the efficiency and safety of train and subway braking systems. Wabtec Corporation go ahead!

Greenfection braking is very powerful & helpful because it will eliminate odor and also control pollution.

Wabtec Corporation have you seen the air-brakes stop working and the rotors catch fire 🔥?? This new technology should help our planet and driver safety. 🎯

My father worked in the lab at ABEX Corp when I was a child. I had no idea how much work went into testing brake pads and linings. Opened my eyes up.

This tells and shows nothing without data. The green materials demo could have been spun up less. The visible fumes might actually not be as bad as any invisible fumes or discharge. Don't trust one set of data alone, especially not your eyes.

Absolutely thrilled to see the launch of our #GreenFriction braking solution on the RER A rail line! A huge congratulations to the entire team at Wabtec Corporation, Ile-De-France Mobilités and RATPgroup, for this groundbreaking achievement. Let's continue driving forward with sustainable and effective solutions! 🚆🌿#Innovation #Sustainability #TeamWork

so much heat energy is wasted why didnt you use regen braking is my question , i assume the cost to be the constraint , but a lot of charge can be created by using regen braking , wabtec what is the reason you are not using regen braking , please let me know i am new to this
