About us
The Lemont, Ill., refinery is a strategic supplier of transportation fuels, particularly in the upper Midwest. The refinery has crude processing capacity of 177,000 barrels per day (bpd) and manufactures several grades of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and high-quality hydrocarbon solvents used in the production of paints, adhesives and coatings.

The CITGO house is almost complete! Our volunteers were hard at work putting final touches on painting, installing light fixtures and ceiling fans on a new home for a wonderful family in partnership with Will County Habitat for Humanity.

The CITGO cycling team had a great success at this year’s Bike MS Tour De Farms raising over $25,000! Riders went the distance this year biking over 1,300 miles. CITGO has participated in the National MS Societies’ annual Bike MS for years; every mile we pedal and every dollar we raised brings us closer to a world free of MS.

This year's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event at the CITGO Lemont Refinery was amazing with over 100 participants and 9,300lbs of waste material collected. This included 680lbs of batteries, 4,200lbs of electronics and 1,500lbs of used oil. Together, we gathered almost 2,000lbs of household waste!

CITGO is a proud sponsor of the 2024 Relay for Life! This year we raised $8,965 for the American Cancer Society. The Relay for Life movement is dedicated to helping communities attack cancer. Through funds donated, time given, or awareness raised, communities are teaming up to make a difference. When we rally together in the fight against cancer, we can accomplish anything.

CITGO Lemont Refinery and the Chicago Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) hosted a full day, live tabletop exercise (TTX) to analyze and enhance the coordinated crisis response between private and public partners across Illinois. The large-scale training event included ninety-seven attendees from thirty local, state and federal agencies. It consisted of a site-specific exercise scenario in which all stakeholder organizations could identify and analyze their own actions through the lens of the greater, synchronized effort to control a fictional Weapons of Mass Destruction incident.
