Recently, we partnered with the City of Chicago, Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC), to deliver an Integrated Emergency Management Course in support of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) taking place in August of 2024. The class was attended by an experienced and dedicated group of city professionals. We explored several important topics that included improving communication and coordination between city departments. The Emergency Management Institute would like to express our sincerest appreciation to everyone who took the week to help build preparedness in the community! #emergencymanagement #thatsmyemi

Last week at EMI, Planning Practitioner Program candidates were attending the second week of the program. Students spent time exploring planning program management, standards and evaluation of a planning program, and non-traditional partners and activities. This program allows planners to further develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform effectively as lead planners and planning program managers. Candidates apply the concepts learned in the classroom to improve planning activities conducted within their jurisdiction and strengthen the vertical integration of emergency management planning at all levels of government. #emergencymanagement #thatsmyemi
