TO INSPIRE
Speaking to students
Share your story by speaking directly to LSBU students about your career journey so far, or supporting with workshops.
It is never too early, or late to share your story by speaking to LSBU students about your career journey so far. Hearing your stories gives our students a very real picture of what’s possible for them along with practical advice for how to get to their next steps and build their community.
You can do this through extra-curricular career panels, speed-networking evenings and even as part of the curriculum in employability talks.
Your story could point our students in the right direction as they look to create their own.
Register your interest.
Take part in a profile
Share your story with our student and Alumni community. This can be through direct interviews, podcasts, blogs or vlogs.
We like to promote our alumni role models so they can inspire the next generation of students. Profiles are shared across the University’s communication channels, through a range of methods.
If you take part in an interview you could feature in our newsletters, on a podcast, or a social media post.
You could even write your own article to share top tips about your field, career or other information you wish you had as a student.
Profiles provide valuable insights for life and top tips that give our students that extra-edge.
Coffee and conversation
Host an online drop-in session on a range of topics to build our LSBU community, and support networking skills.
We would ask Alumni to host online drop-in sessions on a range of topics. This is for current and past students to come and discuss their views and build networking skills.

Career support
Support our Careers Hub provide a range of opportunities to support students in their next steps.
There are many ways to help the next generation of students and alumni prepare for the transition into the workplace.
Whether it’s providing advice on interview prep, attending a careers fair, or having talks with students interested in your field.
Providing jobs, internship or work placements
Supporting progression of LSBU students by providing work experience, placements, internships or graduate jobs.
LSBU alumni represent a significant, distinctive and available resource when it comes to graduate employment and employability. You can give back by facilitating connections between the University and their organisation or directly offering jobs, placements or internships to LSBU students with their company.
Through LSBU’s Careers Hub platform we can also help you advertise jobs, internships or work placements to students and graduates.
Mentoring (Coming soon)
Our new mentoring programme will pair current LSBU students and recent Alumni (2yrs after graduating) with experienced alumni as mentors.
This new programme will pair current and recent (2yrs postgrad) students with experienced alumni as mentors.
There will be a range of mentoring offers from drop-in sessions, to group mentor or 1:1 support.
This programme gives our mentees the opportunity to connect with an experienced professional to help develop their skills, find their network and gain an insight into their industry. Mentors also are given the opportunity to build their leadership skills, gain a new perspective, and help our community grow.
