If you're a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipient, you're in for a double payday this May. Alongside your regular May payment, which should have arrived this past Wednesday the 1st, another SSI payment is on its way. Here's why you're receiving two payments this month and when to expect the additional deposit.
SSI benefits, managed by the Social Security Administration, are provided to individuals with limited income and resources, including those who are blind, aged 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability. Children who are blind or have disabilities may also qualify for SSI.
While SSI payments are typically disbursed on the first of each month, exceptions occur if the first falls on a weekend or holiday. With June 1 falling on a Saturday this year, June payments will be issued a day early on Friday, May 31, meaning there won't be an additional payment in June.
When will you get your next deposit?
For those new to receiving benefits or considering applying for SSI, below are the dates for SSI payments for the remainder of 2024.

Will my other benefits also be paid early this month?
For recipients of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), payments will be issued on their regular schedule, as those payments fall on Wednesdays. Here's the breakdown for May payments:
- May 8: Social Security payments for birthdays between the first and 10th of any month.
- May 15: Social Security payments for birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- May 22: Social Security payments for birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
