Month to month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) distributes Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payments in stages. If you are one of the 7.4 million people who depend on this benefit for their monthly expenses, read on to find out what day to expect your July deposit.
Since 1997, SSA adopted a staggered payment system to make the distribution of SSDI payments more efficient. Under this system, the agency disperses resources on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of each month, depending on your date of birth.
In this way, beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th of the month receive their payment on the second Wednesday. Those born between the 11th and the 20th receive their deposit on the third Wednesday, while on the fourth Wednesday, payments are distributed to those born between the 21st and the 31st.
Deposit dates in July
These are the days the SSA will distribute July SSDI payments:
- Day - Dates of birth
- Jul 10 - 1st - 10th
- Jul 17 - 11th - 20th
- Jul 24 - 21st - 31st
If you are in the SSDI program before May 1997, you will receive your payment on the 1st of the month. If you also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), your SSDI payment will arrive on the 1st, and your SSI payment will arrive on the 3rd.
Will you receive an SSDI increase?
In recent weeks, reports have circulated on social media that Social Security beneficiaries will receive a $600 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) increase. However, the SSAdenied this rumor.
SSA Commissioner Martin O'Malley denied the increase and reminded beneficiaries that the only COLA increase is made with the first payment of each year. Authorities will make the 2025 increase announcement this October.
