Trump on Trial

Outside the courtroom, Joe Biden and Democrats are hitting Donald Trump on abortion on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Special counsel Jack Smith's team argued that Trump should be banned from making more inflammatory statements about FBI agents involved in the case.

Trump's lawyers argue that Jack Smith's appointment as special counsel was unconstitutional and therefore the indictment filed by his office should be dismissed.

Defense attorneys argued that Trump needs to be allowed to speak freely at the June 27 debate with Biden. Judge Aileen Cannon has scheduled a June 24 hearing on the matter.

Cannon struck a paragraph from the indictment on the ground that its sole purpose was to highlight a prior bad act of the former president.

The former president was convicted last month on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the hush money case against him.

The decision by the Georgia Court of Appeals officially ends any chance of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' case of going to trial before Election Day.

Asked about the possibility of being sentenced to house arrest or jail, Trump warned that “it would be tough for the public to take” in an interview with “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

The former president is facing three more criminal trials and a number of civil cases and other legal challenges as he campaigns for another term.

The motion asked that the judge bar former President Donald Trump from making statements that endanger law enforcement.
