Bray councillor becomes new interim tBfI leader

Cllr Suzanne Cross.

Bray ward councillor for RBWM Councillor Suzanne Cross has been appointed the new interim leader of The Borough first Independents (tBfI).

TBfI was founded in 2018 as ‘a grassroots up’ local political party created to support ‘independently-minded’ councillors and prospective candidates, ‘working on a common goal’ for the good the borough, using ‘evidence-based and informed decisions.’

There are seven members of tBfI sitting on Windsor and Maidenhead council.

The group has announced that Cllr Cross is its new interim leader, following an executive decision.

This comes after Cllr Geoff Hill (Oldfield ward councillor, and also a RBWM cabinet member) decided to step down from the leadership role.

TBfI will be holding a formal election for a new leader on July 25 at an extraordinary general meeting.

Should no further nominations for leader be forthcoming by July 11, Cllr Cross will be ratified and officially appointed as the new leader.
