Bankers meet Davis at last as ministers woo business

The chairman of Royal Bank of Scotland is among senior figures from the financial services industry who will attend a Brexit meeting with David Davis at Chevening House next week.

The inclusion of Sir Howard Davies and several others representing banking and fund management will be welcomed by the City, which has felt shut out from Brexit planning.

Also attending the meeting next Friday will be Elizabeth Corley, vice-chairwoman of Allianz Global Investors, and Robert Rooney, chief executive officer of Morgan Stanley International.

The investment bank has chosen Frankfurt as its eurozone hub after Brexit, and is applying for a licence to operate an enlarged business to serve clients across the EU.
