While the Great Britain track cycling team were asserting their phenomenal dominance in the Velodrome over the last six days, it was not long before the opposition were asking each other: “How come they are so good?” However, if the rest of the world is really interested, next time round, in doing a proper job of bridging the gap that opened up so wide in Beijing, there is another question, perhaps more appropriate: “How come we are not?”
