Bryan Ferry Dylanesque

A tribute by one decidedly idiosyncratic singer to another, Ferry’s tepid, dated versions of 11 Dylan favourites make for the year’s most pointless record. Every song here has received better treatment, from Olivia Newton-John (If Not for You) to Guns N’ Roses ( Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door ). Ferry now represents the very establishment Dylan once accused, but if 1970s pop stars must do Bob, Noddy Holder would surely offer more fun.
