Burberry has apologised for featuring a garment with a noose around the neck at its London Fashion Week show.

Critics accused the British brand of glamorising suicide after a model in the show complained of being “triggered” by the hooded garment.

Liz Kennedy, a model who walked in the Burberry show but did not wear the hoodie, said that she spoke out because her family had been affected by suicide but claimed that her concerns were ignored by the fashion house.

Writing on social media, the London-based model said that she was “ashamed to have been a part of the show”. Next to a picture of the hoodie with the rope noose, she posted: “Suicide is not fashion. It is not glamorous nor edgy.”
