A director of Tiso, a Scottish outdoor clothing company, has died after a climbing accident on a Munro.

Donald Tiso, 50, the son of the Edinburgh-based company’s founder, is thought to have been walking with a friend on Ben Starav, near the village of Taynuilt, when he slipped and fell on Friday night.

His companion called the emergency services at about 11.50pm, and he was flown by helicopter to Belford Hospital in Fort William, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

His father, Graham, who founded the company in 1962, died in a boating accident in 1992, aged 57. His younger brother, Chris, is currently the chief executive of Tiso, which he took over after his father’s death. In 1999, he suffered a brain haemorrhage while
