David Beckham backs AC Milan to show killer instinct at Old Trafford

David Beckham backed AC Milan to pull off an upset in the return leg at Old Trafford but rued his team’s failure to kill off Manchester United when they had the chance.

The England midfield player’s first appearance against United since his controversial departure from the club 6½ years ago ended in disappointment as his former team recorded a memorable victory on a night of high drama at San Siro.

Milan went in front through a deflected third-minute volley from Ronaldinho only to spurn a series of excellent chances to extend their lead before United made the Italian giants pay for their profligacy.

However, Beckham believes that Clarence Seedorf’s 85th-minute strike has ensured that Milan have everything to play for on his Old Trafford homecoming.
