Q I hear about the loss of laptops holding sensitive personal information. Is it possible to secure my laptop through encryption?

A You can make data secure either on a file-by-file basis or across a whole disk. A popular free program is TrueCrypt (www.truecrypt.org), which provides extremely strong encryption for complete hard drives or individual files and folders. The software can also hide the data so they cannot be viewed at all.

Q I have an mpg format video I would like to transfer to DVD. What software can you suggest?
