In this iconic play the character Estragon poses the same question to his friend Vladimir what feels like 100 (or perhaps 1,000) times. “Why are we waiting?”

Each time, Vladimir looks askance, his face the personification of a tsk, tsk. “We’re waiting for Godot!” At which point Estragon slumps further as, so often, does the audience.

Well slump no longer. If you have been waiting for a superb production of Samuel Beckett’s classic to restore your faith in a play that can be absolutely deadly, then relax.
