Fans put Feyenoord in dock again

Feyenoord are facing strong sanctions by Uefa after the second outbreak of crowd trouble by their supporters in the space of a week.

Already under investigation after Morten Gamst Pedersen, of Blackburn Rovers, was hit by a plastic beer cup thrown from the crowd in last week’s Uefa Cup match in Rotterdam, Feyenoord must now answer for the hooliganism that led to a 30-minute suspension of last night’s match against AS Nancy, in France.

Having earlier prompted the town’s tram system to be closed after running through the streets breaking windows, Feyenoord fans hurled seats at stewards and smashed panes of glass separating them from their Nancy counterparts with the Dutch team trailing 3-0.
