There are hundreds of thousands of people who have had a photograph taken on the centuries-old Swilcan Bridge in St Andrews. Every Sunday the Old Course is closed, giving members of the public free rein to walk around one of the most famous golf courses in the world. Often a queue for photos will form by the bridge on the 18th fairway, reminiscent of the long line that greets selfie-hunters at the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.
