Fulham have offered a fee rising to £4 million for Neil Taylor, who has been losing out in his battle with Ben Davies for the left-back position at Swansea City.

The Wales player, 24, has interested Newcastle United in the past and has a contract until 2016. Fulham made an approach for Ryan Bertrand, who has since moved to Aston Villa from Chelsea on loan for the rest of the season, but want a long-term full back.

John Arne Riise has returned to the team since the departure of Martin Jol as manager last month but Fulham are looking to bring in younger players, including a centre back and a forward this month.
