David Gilbert could have been planting potatoes or sitting on a tractor this weekend - instead he will take on Ronnie O’Sullivan at the Crucible Theatre.

The 34-year-old from Tamworth got the Betfred World Championship draw yesterday that no one really wanted in Sheffield. O’Sullivan, 40, is the hot favourite with the bookmakers to win the title for a sixth time after racing to victory at the Masters and Welsh Open events this year.
