High stakes ... raise you 90 metres

SYDNEY Competitors at the International Tournament of Extreme Poker in Australia do their best to play it cool at a table suspended 90 metres (295ft) above the sea at North Head, opposite Sydney Harbour Bridge. Hugo Asenjo, a Sydney resident, emerged the winner, avoiding the fate of the five losers, who had to be lowered from the table into the water below. Mr Asenjo’s prize was a place at the table in the next extreme poker event - to be held on the ocean floor in the Caribbean. “I need to learn to scuba dive and get myself a passport,” he said.
