A convicted criminal who was part of the attack on PC Keith Blakelock has denied “fitting up” the officer’s alleged murderer for money.

The key prosecution witness, who had been paid a £5,000 reward for information about the murder, told the Old Bailey that he had kicked the policeman ten times when everyone “just rushed in” during rioting in 1985. PC Blakelock, 40, was hacked to death on the Broadwater Farm estate in Tottenham, North London.
