Police officers have been attacked with missiles including petrol bombs during a dissident republican march in Londonderry on the anniversary of the Good Friday agreement.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland [PSNI] appealed for calm after the attack, which took place amid annual Easter Rising parades.
The force said no officers had been injured but that petrol bombs and other objects were thrown at their Land Rover in the Creggan area of the city. Police had not been notified of the parade, a legal requirement.
More than 90 notified parades were expected to take place across Northern Ireland amid a heightened terror threat ahead of President Biden’s visit, starting on Tuesday evening.
