There was a sense of purpose, and of a job not yet complete, as India made their way to Barbados from mainland South America late on Thursday. Such has been the rushed finish to this tournament, after what seemed an age getting through the group stages, both India and England took a charter flight together immediately after the match, before parting ways, landing in Barbados about midnight local time.

Many players know each other well from the Indian Premier League, and they have all experienced the vagaries of sport, so there was mutual respect after a one-sided semi-final and a crushing defeat for England.
