A Dublin man has been found guilty of murdering two men who had arranged to sell him a stolen car.

Jason O’Driscoll, 35, of Richmond Avenue, Fairview, had pleaded not guilty to murdering Anthony Burnett, 31, and Joseph Redmond, 25, in Co Louth in March 2012.

The jury at the Central Criminal Court was asked to use circumstantial evidence to convict O’Driscoll. They spent more than seven hours deliberating before returning a guilty verdict yesterday by a ten to two majority.

As the judge thanked the jury for their service, O’Driscoll stood up and said: “Guilty of f***ing what?”

He also shouted that he was guilty of nothing and added “f***ing crook” as he was led out of the courtroom.
