Strange as it may seem, comfy used to be a dirty word in luxury fashion. How much has changed.

Before his show on the final day of New York Fashion Week yesterday, Michael Kors was using the term with abandon. “Comfy, cosy, relaxed, that’s what people want now,” said the designer, who will celebrate the 40th anniversary of his brand next year. “There is nothing better than a chic security blanket.”
