Newcastle given tricky opener at West Bromwich Albion

Newcastle United will begin life back in the second tier of English football with a tricky looking away trip to West Bromwich Albion on August 8. The North East club, who have not yet confirmed Alan Shearer as their manager for next season, then face two home ties against Reading and Sheffield Wednesday.

West Brom, currently without a manager after the departure of Tony Mowbray to Celtic, then travel to Nottingham Forest and Peterborough, while also relegated Middlesbrough have a tough home tie against Sheffield United on the opening day before travelling to Swansea City and Scunthorpe.

Leicester City, the League One champions, open up with a home tie with Swansea City, before facing away trips to Ipswich Town and Sheffield United.
