Officer’s ‘killer’ questioned
Police were last night continuing to question a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murder after Neil Doyle, an off-duty police officer, was beaten to death in Liverpool. Doyle, 36, who married just five months ago, was attacked as he and two colleagues left a pub in the early on Friday.
Tory MEP dies aged 63
Philip Bradbourn, the Tory MEP for the West Midlands has died. The 63-year-old was diagnosed with bowel cancer shortly after being re-elected in May. Prime Minister David Cameron said Bradbourn’s “dedication to public service was truly admirable” and that “he was a well-respected and effective MEP”.
