Sir, Alistair Cooke (letter, Nov 30) details T. E. Utley’s 30-year old “warning”, comments on the divisions of 400 years, and gives a brief insight to his career in 1977-79.
However, it is now nearly 2007 and as far as I can see Ireland and Britain are quite impressed as to how people have reconciled the past and are working together to build a peaceful future.
