Manchester United have confirmed that Paul Pogba will travel to Australia this afternoon for their pre-season tour despite uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, told The Times on Friday that he was “in the process” of engineering a move away from Old Trafford for his star client.

Raiola said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the United manager, and the club’s owners were aware that Pogba wants to leave, but United announced this morning that the France midfielder will be on the flight to Perth this afternoon.

Pogba, 26, yesterday made the 3,337-mile trip back from New York, where he was undertaking a promotional tour, and will at around 2pm board a 9,088-mile flight to Australia, where United begin their 20-day tour.
