Three days after AFC Wimbledon bundled West Ham United out of the FA Cup, Manuel Pellegrini delivered another withering assessment of his side by saying that they could not have played worse against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With three goals conceded to an impressive Wolves team, no shots on target as they suffered their third loss in a row, and a worrying injury to Marko Arnautovic, Pellegrini’s evening could barely have been more depressing.
