It could be a scene from the American Midwest, but this tornado twisted its way across Dartmoor on Sunday.
Darren Vertessy, 40, from Plymouth, who was on a day out with his family, observed it for about 15 minutes and caught it on camera as it vanished and reappeared several times.
“It was awe-inspiring,” he said. “It must have been miles away but it still looked huge.”
There are about 80 tornadoes a year in Britain.
