Trump: I’m in Kenosha to heal city scarred by protests

President Trump vowed to help rebuild the riot-torn city of Kenosha yesterday as he used a visit to emphasise his main election campaign theme of supporting law and order.

Mr Trump toured burnt buildings in the mainly boarded-up city centre on a trip billed by the White House as a unifying gesture after the governor of Wisconsin and mayor of Kenosha told the president to stay away.

“We are all in this together,” Mr Trump said as he met local police chiefs. “Kenosha has been ravaged by anti-police, anti-American riots, they have been hit so hard. Law enforcement has really done a great job working with the national guard but we’re here to show our support for Kenosha and Wisconsin — Wisconsin’s been very good
