Understanding issues

Is information about school league tables and BBC stars’ wages too much for the public to get their head around?

Sir, So some head teachers think that league tables should be abolished because parents may not “understand” that there are other ways of judging a school and a BBC executive thinks we should not know how much its stars are paid as we do not “understand” the market.

How long before we are told we should not have the vote as we do not “understand” the issues?
