This week’s must see single: Kaiser Chiefs’ Every Day I Love You Less and Less

How can you not warm to this Yorkshire band? They have been hacking away at fame in various bands for an eternity, and now, finally, seem to have made it. Their latest single from the gold-selling album, Employment, does make you worry, though. The lead singer, Ricky Wilson, a man so awash with joie de vivre he makes Graham Norton look dour, plays another character full of contempt for the working class (he first had a pop at working joes in Kaiser Chiefs’ breakthrough single, I Predict a Riot). His targets this time are a girl with a Croydon facelift (hair scraped back into a ponytail from the forehead) and her parents. It is funny but the targets are too easy. Wilson is sharper than
