On Monday you reported that ‘In June no one under the age of 25 died due to the coronavirus.’ This is wrong. The sentence should have read ‘In June no one under the age of 25 died as a result of coronavirus’. ‘Due to’ is constantly being used where the wording ‘because of’ or ‘as a result of’ is needed.
