love stories. Hugh Grant inevitably leads the cast as a bachelor Prime Minister, although the Bafta-winning Bill Nighy steals the film as an ageing rocker hoping to cash in on Christmas. Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley and Emma Thompson also bring sufficient star power to excuse occasional lapses into mawkish sentiment. (135min)
